Festival in Tula Welcomes Future HSE University International Students
In December, HSE Preparatory Year students travelled to Tula to attend an international student festival. They got to know the ancient Russian city, presented their cultures at the festival, and participated in a student concert. Students from Macedonia, Syria and China shared their impressions about the event with the HSE News Service, while Russian teacher Anastasiya Zinchenko spoke about how such trips broaden the students’ outlook on the country and make them a better team.
'HSE and VK's Engineering and Mathematics School Lets You Gain Serious Work Experience While Studying'
It has been more than two months since HSE and VK launched a new collaborative educational project: the Engineering and Mathematics School (EMS) based at HSE MIEM. Competitive enrolment was announced in Moscow for HSE students wishing to enter EMS. Those who were admitted are now working at EMS workshops on actual business assignments from VK covering the most in-demand areas of IT, while also attending signature courses led by HSE and VK experts. Several students of the school's first enrolment batch have shared their impressions with the HSE News Service.
‘I Like the Atmosphere on the Campus’
The first semester will come to an end soon. The students have already met their groupmates and lecturers, faced their first exams, and received their first grades. Some international first-year students of the HSE campus in St Petersburg share their impressions of the university and its educational programmes.

On November 25th, the HSE Pokrovka building hosted the ‘The Whole World in HSE’ festival, which brought together HSE students from Indonesia, Korea, China and Armenia, as well as Europe, Latin America, and various Russian regions, to celebrate the university’s 30th anniversary.

Former French Ambassador Shares His Experience with HSE Students as a Digital Professor
As part of the ‘Digital Professors’ programme, HSE University invites international lecturers to work with students remotely. One of the programme’s participants is Dr Pierre Andrieu, lecturer at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). At HSE University, he taught the elective courses ‘EU in the World’ and ‘New Challenges and Threats’ in 2021–2022. In his interview with the HSE News Service, Dr Andrieu talked about his diplomatic career, research interests, and interactive teaching.

Where Languages and Cultures Meet
The Bachelor’s in Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication combines traditional approaches to foreign language teaching with innovative educational practices. The programme has attracted a lot of international students thanks to the opportunity to enrol in the English track and study all its courses in English.
