2-3

is the average number of friends that school students have in their class.

These data are presented in a report by Elizaveta Chernenko, a trainee and researcher at the International Laboratory for Education Policy Analysis at the HSE Institute of Education, and Andrey Zakharov, Deputy Head of the Laboratory. The report is entitled ‘Analysis of the Factors of Education Quality’.

According to the research, about half of the classes do not have any students who keep to themselves. In 40% of classes, all students are joined through a chain of friendships.
